Not much in life lends itself to a simple answer. We almost always answer, “Well, it depends…”.

Life is rarely in balance. You’re almost always giving before you get or getting before you give.

The deep guilt and shame are not erased, but accepting forgiveness is the first step of the journey forward.

Allowing frustration to boil over is NOT acceptable. Need to anticipate and act deliberately, NOT just react.

Going to need a plan to deal with the continuing high level of disrespect and testing every limit.

When there’s a big crowd, keep the tap open.  Also, tapping kegs is easy but they are heavy!

Fun to see Auntie and the girls for a week.

Few things are as rewarding as holding the baby while he sleeps.

Hard to know if we’re “saving” him from sinking lower or enabling him.

Most of who and what you are is reason to celebrate others, not blow your own horn. #humility #service

Sometimes hard to believe it was 4 years today that things changed direction for my career and family.

Having all the girls here makes things a little wild (and loud) but fun.

Fun to win 2nd in a row, especially when he played well and his brother was there to watch.

Fun to have seen the last 5 innings of what may be the greatest World Series game ever.

Feels great to have the new bathroom exhaust fan work on the first try!  Not having a fan in the main morning bathroom was really disruptive.

Of course I’m productive there:  it’s not populated with depressed, dispirited, zombies constantly in fear of what they say and do.  And I have some access to natural light.

Weird how close to tears I was the entire time I was talking to my mom.

Really touching to see the baby crying “I love you, John” as the oldest left tonight.

Great to have a good visit from the oldest: grilled meat, games with the siblings, and LOTS of laughter!

Getting a lot done sometime takes it out of you and bedtime comes early.
