What I Learned Today to Make Tomorrow a Better Day

Eat Dessert First

When the occasion is the Mouse’s 18th Birthday, order the apple walnut bread pudding first, then get some entrees if you’re not too full.

Return of the Mojo

Running 5 miles for the first time in months (when I only thought I did 3) at around 9-minute miles means I may be okay for next week’s 5k.

You Can Always Agree

When someone leads with a proposal you’re willing to accept, ask at least a couple of probing questions to see if they’re willing to offer more.

Improper Venue

It’s difficult to maintain a meaningful conversation with more than 3 people in a loud bar with multiple TVs surrounding you.

Own It and Move On

Apologize for what you did*, plan to do it differently next time, then FORGET ABOUT IT.

*not “sorry if I made you feel…”  or “sorry if I seemed…”

Or Maybe You’re Gullible

If someone outside the bank with a clipboard and story tells you to give him $100 dollars, you probably will, not because you’re gullible, but because you’ve been programmed since grade school to do what you’re told and not question authority.
