Need to stay focused on being the dad I want to be.
Not all smooth on the way home but glad the house was safe and warm when we got here.
Great to get compliments from servers for well-behaved kids, especially with the full group of cousins and on the last day of a long stay.
Thankful to be with extended family but missing the older boys.
Great leaders are always looking at (mostly negative) possibilies and making contingency plans.
Lust, not hate, is the opposite of love. When you love, you want to give of yourself. When you lust, you want to take for yourself. Similarly, listening is giving attention, talking is taking attention.
Hard to beat having my brother-in-law take us out to dinner at a great Mexican restaurant.
Great fun to have the season championship decided on the final laps of the final race with the top 2 drivers running 1st and 2nd. (And to have a rain delay so I could watch the final laps!)
Planning a “short” first day takes the pressure off departure and rest stops and leaves plenty of time for swimming and enjoying the hotel.
Need to make use of the time next week to read, connect, and RELAX.
Too many short nights in a row catches up. Need to get more sleep. (Obviously.)
