What I Learned Today to Make Tomorrow a Better Day

Month: June 2011 (Page 1 of 2)

On the Pitch

An hour of after-work pick-up soccer was FUN! and relaxing – that good kind of tired!

Also pretty happy with my speed, skills, and stamina. 🙂

On Broadway

First class sets, costumes, choreography, and singers, and actors who get in character (and stay there) makes all the differfence.  Seeing it all up close from the 3rd row isn’t bad either!

Piece of the Puzzle

Because I’m not clear about my priorities and expectations at work, I never feel that I’m “finished” at the end of the day, so I always feel I need to do more at home.  Hence some of the constant stress.

Feeling That Way Too

Need to put myself in other’s shoes and show EMPATHY first.  Then (and only then!) they’ll be open to listening to me.

Key: Slow down and listen to them.

Backstop

Sometimes you don’t need someone to push you forward, just someone to not let you go backward. #accountability

Still Not There

Even when I think I’m doing better, the feedback is “no you’re not”.

Shut your mouth when stressed.

P.S. Why are you stressed? It’s all self-induced thought…

Irony

Reading books about respect and stress and then totally blowing it with the boys (mostly Dobber) makes me wonder, when will I learn?
